PASITHEA /Elevated Serenity in a Forest–Sea Horizon
PASITHEA is a composition of light, structure, and terrain. Perched on the southern slopes of Poros island, it mediates between pine forest and open sea. Two ground-level accommodation wings are anchored into the hillside, while a primary living volume is lifted above. A concrete bridge extends from this upper level into the woodland, creating an approach that is both architectural and experiential.
Architectural & Structural Features
Layered massing :
twin ground-level wings stabilise the building in terraced topography, reducing visual bulk.
Elevated primary volume :
upper living spaces extend outward on concealed structural cores, producing a cantilevered form.
Forest bridge connection :
a minimally detailed concrete span links the upper level to the surrounding woodland.
Orthogonal geometries :
clean, right-angled junctions define volumes, complemented by deep shading overhangs.
Full-height glazing :
expansive openings on sea-facing façades maximise light and panoramic views. Forest views are framed within purposefully placed minimal windows.
Organic materials :
materials are chosen to integrate fluidly and respectfully to the natural environment with an aim to blend modern aesthetics with Mediterranean identity.
